Elgeyo Marakwet County Deputy Governor H.E Gabriel Lagat has called on all stakeholders to fight Corruption for Counties to realize meaningful development. Noting that devolution is the second greatest thing to have happened in Kenya after attainment of independence, Hon. Lagat pointed to corruption as the greatest threat to devolution. the deputy governor said this when he officially opened a workshop for County Anti-Corruption Civilian Oversight Committee members from Kisumu, Baringo and Elgeyo Marakwet Counties. 

National Anti-Corruption Campaign Steering Committee is in the process of setting up the Civilian oversight committee in all counties to help sensitize the public against corruption. Niteen counties already have the committee in place and the three from Kisumu, Elgeyo Marakwet and Baringo will bring the number to 22.
