West Pokot County Anti-Corruption Civilian Oversight Committee  visited Pkantil Water Project in Pokot South Sub-County, funded by the County Government at a cost of Ksh 3,036,195.00. A social audit on the project revealed the water intake was too small to allow for treatment of the water, while residents confessed they were not involved in the project implementation which has stalled since inception on 27th April, 2016. Infact, NACCSC found the community laying water pipes which they confessed they were asked to when information spread that NACCSC would visit the project. In a public forum after the exercise, members of the public welcomed the Oversight Committee, and urged them to follow up on the slow pace of project implementation. NACCSC promised to engage the County Government to determine the project status, and report back to the community.
