The National Anti-Corruption Campaign Steering Committee (NACCSC) is established in the office of the Attorney General vide Kenya Gazette Notice No. 6707 of 19th September, 2014. NACCSC is mandated to undertake a nationwide public education, sensitization and awareness creation campaign to effect fundamental changes in the behaviour, attitudes, practices and culture of Kenyans towards corruption. The campaign is mainly focused on members of the public to empower them fight and prevent corruption.
Under the above mentioned Gazette notice paragraph 5h, the committee was mandated to create networks in the counties to expedite the discharge of its functions. NACCSC established County Anti-Corruption Civilian Oversight Committees (CACCOCS) to implement awareness creation campaign activities at the grassroots, mobilize the public to participate in the fight, monitor and address corruption in the implementation of public projects and programmes and provide the public with the support mechanism necessary to effectively fight and prevent corruption.
